(To Army Majority State)
03/10/23

From 18 to 22 September, a multinational team, led by Major General Jeremy Bennet, deputy commander of NRDC-ITA, conducted the exercise in Romania Eagle Walk 23 (EAWA 23).

The activity, supported by the Multinational Corps South East (MNC-SE) based in Sibiu, developed in a series of visits to areas and sites of important historical importance as evidence of the military operations conducted during the First and Second World Wars.

The opportunity to study and analyze the lessons learned from the past has led to a better knowledge of the events and consequently a greater familiarity with the terrain thanks also to a solid cooperation with the MNC-SE in terms of partnership and mutual support in anticipation of upcoming joint training activities.

During the activity, Major General Bennet and Major General Nicola Terzano, Chief of Staff of NRDC-ITA, met with the commander of the MNC-SE, Major General Dragos-Dumitru Iacob, who provided them information on the MNC-SE mission along NATO's south-eastern flank.

The NRDC-ITA delegation also paid a significant farewell to the monument to the fallen of the First and Second World Wars at the Marasesti mausoleum.

The event is part of the activities that the NRDC-ITA NATO command conducts in order to enhance operational capabilities in terms of deterrence and collective defense.
