Within the broad framework of international cooperation activities, the 3rd Alpine Regiment organized and conducted the "Dardo Ghiacciato" exercise which saw the nuclei flow to the Pian dell'Alpe (TO) polygon Tycoons Selected of numerous Italian and foreign departments.
In particular, departments of the French Army of the 27th Infantry Brigade of the Mountains, the "Folgore" Parachute Brigade and the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment participated in the activity.
The already highly qualified personnel conducted an initial amalgam phase in which daytime and nighttime maintenance shots were made from maximum distances with the various weapons supplied. For the occasion, the exercised units also employed the new Beretta ARX 200 cal. 7.62 for Experienced shooters.
Subsequently, i Tycoons Selected they were infiltrated with helicopters of the "Toro" 34 regiment, in the area where they operated opposing forces of the "Susa" Alpine Battalion which, practicing in the area anti-interdiction, made the activity absolutely realistic and consistent. Moreover, the morphology of the exercise area, characterized by steep slopes, the snow-covered terrain, together with the winter climatic conditions with particularly cold temperatures, have made the scenario absolutely challenging and training rewarding.
