French delegation to the School of Application

(To Application School)
04/04/17

A delegation led by General Jean-Yves Lauzier, commander of the French Army Training Institutes, visited the Turin Application School today. Colleagues from across the Alps, including the defense officer at the French Embassy in Rome, General Jérôme Lokhart, were welcomed to Palazzo Arsenale by Army Corps General Claudio Berto, commander for Training and Application School Army.

During the visit, the French officers had the opportunity to ascertain the didactic and training path identified by our Army to prepare and update the personnel belonging to the different roles. The consolidated collaboration between the Armed Force, the academic world, the international, scientific and entrepreneurial institutions of the territory has aroused particular interest in the French delegation. The synergy between the Application School and the Interdepartmental University Structure of Strategic Sciences of the University of Turin was judged by the French guests to be innovative and effective. The university course common to young Army officers and civil students of Strategic Sciences offers interesting opportunities to achieve solid and up-to-date training, essential for those who, with or without stars, in the near future will be the protagonists of the main international crises.

The visit proved fruitful for the mutual exchange of experiences and for the expansion of common projects, including the exchange of students between military schools and Italian and French universities.

General Lauzier, at the end of the visit, expressed his appreciation for a training proposal judged to be at the forefront, whose keys to success lie in respect for traditions and in the contextual openness to the most ambitious cultural horizons.
