Delegation of the Army Application School in Mongolia

The visit of a delegation from the Army Training Command and Application School has just ended Peace Operations Training Center of the Armed Forces of Mongolia.

The meeting between the Italian representation led by the director of the Post-Conflict Operations Center, Brigadier General Antonio Pennino, and the leaders of the corresponding Asian military structure took place in the capital Ulan Bator at the "Five Hill Training Center".

The purpose of the visit is to realize the mutual collaboration in the field of the training of the personnel designated to conduct the stabilization and reconstruction operations of the territories torn by recent conflicts and hostilities.

The military arrived from Turin illustrated to the Asian colleagues the educational and didactic capacities of our Study Center arousing the interest of the counterpart in view of future cooperation initiatives in the security sector.

The Italian visit is part of a bilateral cooperation plan prepared by the respective Defense Major States in the 2017 on the sidelines of an agreement signed in May of the previous year between the defense ministries of Italy and Mongolia regarding military training and industrial cooperation.

During the visit, the Italian delegation was also received by the head of the military cooperation department and the Mongolian Defense Chief of Staff.

The visit of the delegation of Post-Conflict Operations Study Center it constitutes a further piece of the so-called global approach to transnational threats, in which military, political, diplomatic and economic commitments are combined. A delicate context in which it appears essential to consolidate ties with a country, Mongolia, whose Armed Forces today contribute to peace operations in South Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo.
