Running for the Turin barracks

700 runners of all ages took part in the second edition of "Running for the barracks", a non-competitive race organized by the Army Application School in collaboration with the Piedmont Regional Command of the Guardia di Finanza, the Alpine Taurinense brigade, the Allievi School Carabinieri of Turin and the GS Atletica of Nichelino.

The civilian and military athletes have crossed a ring of 9,6 km that from the Military Sports Center of Piazza d'Armi has crossed four historical Turin barracks: Monte Grappa (headquarters of the Brigade Taurinense) the Cernaia (Carabinieri), Palazzo Arsenale (headquarters of the Army Application School) and the Emanuele Filiberto (Guardia di Finanza) barracks.

First classified Gianluca Ferrato of the 3rd Alpine Regiment of Pinerolo with a time of 33 '29 "followed by William Maiolo of the State Police (34' 32") and Luigi Ciamarella CUS Torino (34 "38"). First among the athletes Antonella Martina of Base Running who completed the ring in 42 '14 "followed by Maria Chiara Armenti of the Army Application School (42' 25") and Lucrezia Cannarozzi of CUS Turin (42 '50 " ). The youngest athlete, Alessia Iannelli class 2002 of Atletica Dora and the veterans of the race Venerina Callegari class of 1939 and Guido Belli, 1931, were also awarded. At the end of a beautiful day of sport, the important gesture of solidarity in favor of the Piedmontese Foundation for the Research on Cancer of Candiolo to which the entire proceeds of the event were donated.
