The “Orsa Maggiore 2017” exercise of the Viterbo School of Marshals of the Army concluded

The "Orsa Maggiore 2017" exercise ended, the final activity of the "selected patrol" course for the marshal students of the 18th course "Loyalty", held at the Infantry School in Cesano di Roma.

The entire course, lasting six weeks, was developed in three different training modules: the first allowed the students to acquire the ability to move and fight individually in a mountain and hilly environment, with day and night orienteering activities ; in the second, developed in Fitness Gym, the young people faced the jumping tests on a round cloth and acquired the knowledge of abseiling, climbing, movement on suspended bridges and overcoming natural obstacles; in the third, finally, the visitors were trained to move and fight following the techniques of the Combat Patrol.

The continuous exercise "Orsa Maggiore", carried out in the areas between the towns of Monte Romano, Tolfa, Santa Severa, Furbara, Cesano, Formello and Campagnano, was essential to provide students with the ability to plan, organize and conduct ongoing operations , developing skills of decision-making autonomy, self-esteem and teamwork. There Army Non-Official School is responsible for training marshals, platoon commanders and qualified professional nursing marshals.

The training process is developed by combining university-level teaching with an intense sport-gym activity together with a demanding program of military, theoretical and practical activities, carried out in-house, in areas and training facilities throughout the country.
