The ceremony of awarding the marshal ranks to 126 students of the XXIV "Loyalty" course and the changeover of the commander took place this morning at the Army Non-Commissioned Officers School.

The events took place in the presence of the commander of the Army Training, Specialization and Doctrine, Army Corps General Carlo Lamanna, of numerous civil and military authorities, including the mayor Dr. Chiara Frontini, the prefect Dr. Antonio Cananà, the president of the Province Dr. Alessandro Romoli and the police commissioner Fausto Vinci as well as the banners of the fighting and weapons associations and the banners of the city and province of Viterbo.

The presence of the students' families was particularly appreciated, as they actively participated in the ceremony, affixing, as is now tradition, the rank on the shoulder straps of the new marshals, demonstrating their sharing in the choice made and their pride in achieving this coveted goal.

The ceremony was also characterized by the passing of the "cue" from the students of the senior course to the young colleagues of the XXV "Duvere" course, a symbolic gesture which ideally represents the transmission of traditions, values and responsibilities among the course attendees who happen at the School.

After the awarding of particularly deserving students, who distinguished themselves in university and military disciplines and in gymnastic-sports activities, the change of commander of the Non-Commissioned Officers School took place. After two years, division general Alberto Vezzoli handed over the leadership of the Institute to brigadier general Roberto Vergori. The event was sanctioned by the passing of the Institute Flag, and by the enunciation of the recognition formula which officially decrees the authority of the new Commander.

In his farewell speech, General Vezzoli wanted to remember the period spent in command of the Non-Commissioned Officers School, addressing the staff with words of esteem and thanks for the collaboration received and the excellent work done in the training of future non-commissioned officers of the Army.

“Always be among your men and women, share commitment and effort with them. Be an example, but without replacing them, without competing with them" were the words of exhortation pronounced by General Lamanna to future platoon commanders and, subsequently, he wished the transferring and incoming commanders the best of luck for the prestigious tasks they are about to carry out.
