VFI aspirants, “Dragons” for a day

It took place at the "Durli" barracks in Palmanova, headquarters of the "Genova Cavalleria" regiment (4th), a Open Day in favor of VFI candidates (Volunteers on Initial Service) of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd block 2024, coordinated by the "Friuli Venezia Giulia" Army military command.

The aspiring soldiers, coming from the entire region, were able to experience a day with the dragons of "Genoa", starting with participation in the solemn flag-raising ceremony, which represents the daily start of military activities. 
Receiving the young guests, in addition to the regimental commander, Col. Antonio Di Nitto, the commander of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" brigade, Gen. B. Nicola Mandolesi, was also present, who illustrated the peculiarities of the cavalry brigade with particular reference to the National Projection Screening Capacity.

After a series of informative briefings on the opportunities offered to the volunteers, the young aspirants had the opportunity to try their hand at multiple practical training activities, using four demonstration stations set up for the occasion and, subsequently, in the presence of two pairs on horseback equipped in operational order, they attended the presentation of the activities carried out by military equestrian center.

L'Open Day it ended with a visit to the historic hall of the regiment and the delivery of the certificate of participation by the regimental commander.​
