On 12 and 13 October, Nave Chioggia was engaged in bottom survey activities near the gas pipeline Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), as part of the Operation Safe backdrops.
The unit, under the tactical command of Rear Admiral Gianguido Manganaro, commander of the Operation Safe Mediterranean, on Friday the 13th received on board a delegation of soldiers from the Albanian Navy, made up of three divers and a hydrographer.
The diving team on board, together with the Albanian counterpart, conducted scuba diving on the TAP, aimed at ensuring the safety of the gas pipeline that connects the two countries across the Adriatic Sea.
This is a unique opportunity to strengthen international cooperation between coastal states and increase the ability to integrate assets between navies of different countries.
