Ship Espero parked in the Seychelles carries out activities of Maritime Capacity Building

During its current use in the European Anti-Piracy Operation Atalanta Ship I hope stopped in Port Victoria, Mahè Island (Seychelles).

During the stop, Ship I hope he conducted training activities for a team of the Maritime Police and the Seychelles Air Force. The training activity began with a briefing on the potential and capabilities of the Unit and the aircraft assets on board and continued with an indoctrination conducted by the men of the San Marco marine brigade on how to carry out boarding operations and on the related safety and protection.

The staff showed interest and enthusiasm. The value of this activity was further highlighted by the intervention on board by Colonel Michael Rosette, Chief or Staff of the Armed Forces of Seychelles, which appreciated the work done by the ship's crew Espero and hoped to replicate this event in the future.

The training sessions are part of the LMCB (Local Maritime Capability Building) activity whose purpose is to provide local security forces with the basics for training in the fight against piracy, while allowing to strengthen the relationship of cooperation and trust between the units of the anti-piracy task force and the local maritime forces.
