Ship Antaeus, the naval unit of the Navy to support submarine operations at the Diving Group and Incursori "Tesei Tesei" has arrived in Aksaz (Turkey) to participate in the exercise Dynamic Monarch 2017 (DYMH17). This activity will take place from the 8 to the September 22 and will also involve the submarine rescue structures supplied to the Turkish, Spanish, American, Norwegian, English and French Navy.

DYMH17 is a three-year tutorial in the Submarine Escape and Rescue (SMER), which will check the capabilities available to NATO for the search and rescue of personnel on a missed submarine. The purpose of this complex activity is to share rescue procedures and improve interoperability between the various Marine, in order to reduce the timing and increase the likelihood of survival of staff placed inside a submersible lying on the bottom .

Two Turkish and one Spanish submarine will land on the backdrops varying from 40 to 100 meters, simulating having suffered an accident and not being able to re-emerge. Alert the international relief chain, the Navy will operate through Naval Antaeus and board sailors for the retrieval of crew placed inside the boats and to ensure their survival.

The operations will be carried out by the personnel of the Italian Navy using technological systems such as the SRN 300 rescue mini-submarine, which can autonomously manage the damaged submarine to bring 12 people to safety, a ventilation system that is able to to supply air to the submarine from the surface and the ADS rigid articulated diving suit, through which the divers can conduct dives up to 300 meters without being subjected to external pressure.

The Submarine and Inshore Pool Submarine Relief Submarine Excellence, well recognized abroad, is a unique peculiarity in the Mediterranean Marine Environment and is part of the multiple capabilities of the Navy puts at the service of the community in the marine environment.
