The Undersecretary of State for Defense, Honorable Domenico Rossi, took part in the commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the massacre of the Porzus huts today in Udine.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by the president of the autonomous region Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, and the mayors of the municipalities of the province of Udine.

In his speech Undersecretary Rossi, first recalling the words of the then President Napolitano who called the massacre of Porzus, "a shadow area of the liberation movement", said that "without hiding a historical reality that exists, all resistance contains within itself the fundamental values of our constitution, the same values that refer to the country".

"Today's celebration takes on an even deeper meaning"remarked Undersecretary Rossi,"due from the reunification of the Partigiani Osoppo association and the national association Partisans of Italy, which after years of disagreement, for the first time, paid homage together with the victims of Porzus".

"The Government has the institutional role of being present in ceremonies like this, so that positive messages can be sent to the whole country", concluded the undersecretary,"a country, Italy, which has a soul made of values, solidarity and social justice".
