Sunday 12 November, at 10.00, in Bologna's Park of Montagnola, will be commemorating the terrorist attack at the "Maestral Base", the headquarters of the Carabinieri Multinational Support Unit (MSU) in Nassiriya (Iraq).
At the ceremony, which involves the deposition of a laurel crown to the commemorative monument that the commune of Bologna wanted to erect 2004 in perpetual memory of the nineteen military and civilian fallen, will be representatives of the prefecture, the common and regional leaders of the Army and Carabinieri.
The monument, inaugurated the 12 February of 2004, three months after the event, is completed by a flagpole on which a national flag waved in whose white field the 19 names were initially written.
From 12 September 2009, the date also celebrates the "Memorial Day of Military and Civilian Falls in International Peace Missions" and represents the recognition of the country to all those who have honored with the highest sacrifice, the name of Italy in the world .
