height of Igoumenitsa, during the period of the war against Turkey, the destroyer Artigliere of the 4th Squadron (commander, frigate captain Guido Biscaretti di Ruffia) on patrol with the Corazziere (commander, lieutenant captain Luigi Castellino) has a lively confrontation on fire with the Turkish destroyer Tajar which hit the coast and is subsequently destroyed by the joint fire of the two Italian units.

Forced the entrance of the port the two destroyers frame with the shot and hit a second Turkish war unit that seeks escape to earth incurliando on sandy bottom until a shot fired from the Corazziere does not center a head in war of torpedo making her explode with devastating consequences.

During the reconnaissance in the port, armed boats of the two units attack and capture the Turkish armed yacht Tarabulus (ex Thetis) which will be towed by the Corazziere and transferred to Taranto; on 6 May 1912 she will enter service as a gunboat in the Italian Navy with the name of Captain VERRI (photo). She will be disbarred on December 19, 1926
