30 Happened August 1911: The First Flight of a Head of State

30/08/14

At the end of the great land maneuvers, the P.2 airship makes a demonstration flight over the Monferrato area with the King on board accompanied by his field aide Admiral Paolo Thaon di Revel.

The crew is composed of the lieutenants Guido Scelsi, commander, and Emanuele Ponzio and the second lieutenant of vessel Bruno Brivonesi; for reasons of weight and space in the spacecraft, given the presence of the two passengers, the motorist was left on the ground. It is the first flight performed by a head of state. At the end the airship returns to Campalto.
