29 December 1881 happened: The on-board Rangefinder

The rangefinder designed by Rear Admiral Luigi Fincati to quickly measure the distances of objects whose height is known or can be estimated is installed on board the units.

This tool, tested positively over several years, will be included under the name of "Fincati range finder" of the equipment of the artillery on board.
