28 occurred March 1913: Seaplane Curtiss Flying Boat crashes into the sea

Venice a Curtiss Flying Boat seaplane, under the command of which was the chief helmsman of 2a class Enrico Mendoza crashes into the sea at San Nicolò di Lido due to failure during a training flight.

The plane is lost but the pilot is drawn on save by a spear immediately rushed from the base of Sant'Andrea.
