28 Happened August 1869: The Arsenal of La Spezia was inaugurated

ezia the major general of the Genio Navale Domenico Chiodo, after the blessing imparted by Monsignor Domenico Battolla, Abate of the city, inaugurates the military maritime Arsenal with a plant that was only partially completed (two basins, two construction ports, four workshops), with opening of the flooding water gap.

The works will continue in the following years through further enlargements up to 1900, when the arsenal will reach its final configuration and full operation.
