The 25 July 1908 Happened: Gold at the Olympic Games in London

ndra during the IV Olympic Games, Enrico Porro, wishes the Navy, municipality of 1a class on military service in La Spezia on board the torpedo boat school Castelfidardo, wins the gold medal in the Greek fight for light-weight category, after having beaten the Russian champion of the specialty Nikolay Orlov being rewarded by Queen Alexandra of England.

It is the first gold medal that the Italian Federation wins at the Olympics. Returning to La Spezia for the last weeks of service, welcomed by a large crowd, by Admiral Lucifero, commander in chief of the department and by the marching band, he will be received by King Vittorio Emanuele III on board the Trinacria, who will reward him with a medal of gold.
