The Royal Navy Aviation School was established in Venice in the same locality of Le Vergini where the hydro-planes section already existed, practically replacing it, established in October 1912 by the Inspection Office of the aeronautical services of the Ministry of War.

The school that depends on the department's command is directed by the Lieutenant Manlio Ginocchio, former commander of the Centocelle of the Army school and patented seaplane pilot in the French school of Juan Les Pins in the 1913; one of the flight instructors is the captain GN pilot Alessandro Guidoni.
