battleship Castelfidardo under the command of the captain Augusto Conti sails from Naples to Sfax where he arrives on the 16th to replace the battleship Regina Maria Pia. After having crossed for a long time in the waters of eastern Tunisia, touching ports and sources on that coast, on 21 November it will go to Tunis to return to Spezia on 18 February 1882.
It will be the last unit to leave the Tunisian waters where for five months it had provided assistance and protection to the large Italian colony during the French military operations, the subsequent Arab resistance actions and the final submission of the country.
