07 happened July 1915: Sunk Amalfi

The armored cruiser Amalfi (commander, vessel captain Giacomo Riaudo) operating in the Upper Adriatic with the escort of the high-torpedo destroyers Calipso and Climene, in support of a formation of torpedo boats (11 destroyer of the 1a and 2a Squadriglia) on a surveillance cruise , is sunk by a torpedo launched by the Germanic submarine UB 14 (operating under the Austrian flag as U 26) commanded by the vessel lieutenant von Heimburg.

Human losses amount to 73 men including an officer; 682 survivors collected by the escort units and the “PN” torpedo boats of the 10th Squadriglia promptly left Venice.
