6 July 1866: Admiral Persano urged to fight

Minister Depretis informs the Admiral Persano of the King's understanding that he does not want to accept Veneto from the hands of Napoleon III, because it is considered an offensive act, but he wants to conquer it with actions on the field and on the sea.

Admiral Persano is urged to take the sea to look for the enemy in his waters and the related instructions are delivered to him.

The next day, Persano will send the general orders for navigation and combat tactics to the units.

It is the prelude to the battle of Lissa.
