30 July 1900: The Navy mourns for the Killing of Umberto di Savoia

following the death of King Umberto, the Good King (which took place the day before Sunday 29 - in Monza by the anarchist Gaetano Bresci; the crown prince Vittorio Emanuele, the third of the dynasty to bear the name) will take the throne the regular funeral dispositions including, the half-mast flag, imbrocconi pennoni, funeral wars with cannon shot to the rhythm of 15 'and the last day on order via telegraph, after the execution of the last save, flags and command signs brought back to shore.

The Ministry's Military Journal for the Navy and the order-keeping sheets will respectively carry the cover page and the first page edged with a black frame for a period of six months. Military personnel take mourning for six months.
