27 September 1915: The ship Benedetto BRIN sinks

Monday - In Brindisi the battleship Benedetto Brin (commander, captain of vessel Gino Fara Forni) flagship of 6a School Ship Division (Rear Admiral Ernesto Rubin de Cervin) at anchor in the outer space, at the 08 due to a sudden explosion of the stern ammunition depot sinks.

The aft tower 305 mm thrown into the air crashes on the left side of the ship and the aft part of the hull, reduced to a pile of wreckage, quickly plunges, dragging the ship to the bottom.

The survivors were nine officers and 473 officers and sailors, hundreds of whom were injured, the fallen were 21 officers and 433 officers and sailors, including Admiral Rubin de Cervin and Commander Fara Forni. The loss of the ship, as stated in the investigation, was due to sabotage.
