disarmed in Naples from 7 December 1879, the Governolo wheeled corvette was removed from the Regio Naviglio framework, the last act to close a glorious "career" that lasted over thirty years. The unit was built in London on behalf of the Sardinian navy and launched on October 19, 1849, with a wooden hull, a displacement of 1700t and a motive power of 450 horsepower.

Arriving in Genoa in the 1850, after seven months, her long commitment at sea began, both to rescue and to help restore public order rather than take part in war actions. His participation we find in the waters of Ancona before and Gaeta after, engaged in the period of unification of Italy. She was also active in Lissa during the unfortunate battle with Austrian boats. His presence was not lacking even in distant waters like in the Middle East or the Crimea, the coasts of the South American countries and those of the Far East in defense of the interests of our compatriots or to favor our trade abroad.

His story will end in the Navy in the 1884 when, after the radiation, it will be sold to private individuals for demolition.
