corvette Caracciolo under the command of frigate captain Angelo Sarlo leaves Montevideo to repatriate. With short stops in Rio de Janeiro, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Gibraltar and Baia for the usual medical observation stop, on 17 July it will arrive in Naples after two years overseas.
The command of the South American Station is assumed ad interim, waiting for the new commander (frigate captain Michele Carpi, commander of the Guiscardo), by frigate captain Carlo Libetta, commander of the Ardita gunboat, the most senior officer present.
