21 November 1917: Incursion of Italian destroyers against the opposing lines at Grisolera

(To Marina Militare)
21/11/15

In support of the Italian defense on the Piave, repeating the success obtained the previous 19/11 with the bombing of the enemy lines between Revedoli, Santa Croce and Caorle, a new counter-coast shooting mission of the Italian units: at the first light of dawn on the 21st, the Abba, Ardente, Audace and Animoso fighters hit the opposing positions with 400 shots from 102 mm.

The action, yet another not to be opposed by the Austro-Hungarian Navy, continues the victorious counter-offensive of the Navy which in the previous days, in Cortellazzo, had denied the Central Powers the last chance to win the European war on the Italian front.
