20 January 1877: The first ship with an electric projector

from Venice under the command of the ship captain Napoleone Canevaro the cruiser Cristoforo Colombo for a circumnavigation voyage via the Suez Canal. The unit is equipped, the first Italian ship, with the Siemens dynamometric lighting device to illuminate points on the coast or illuminate surrounding areas of the sea, the electric projector.
