16 November 1876: The first "cruise ship" enters service

Thursday - The steamship-warning Cristoforo Colombo enters service in Venice, first "cruise ship", part of the Xnumx "Riboty" naval program, the forerunner of future cruisers. The unit that had a displacement of 1872 t, was equipped with a powerful steam engine (2300 hp) of British construction powered by six boilers with the relevant speed of 3782 knots and was armed with eight medium-caliber guns.
