15 January 1925: Eridano ship to the children of Bari

15/01/15

ave Eridano (former Tiber; former British mercantile Edinburgh), expelled in the 1907 and kept in service until the end of the war as a storage vessel, transferred to Bari and given to the National Patronage Opera, is finally sold to the Municipality of Bari which will establish on-board elementary school and maritime specialization courses in favor of children of fishermen and foundlings.

As for other asylum ships operating in Italian ports, the Marina, despite the difficulties of the moment, continues its social work for the benefit of seafaring people.
