"Reports received today give these details on the sinking of the Austrian submarine U 3:
In the morning hours of the current 12 one of our auxiliary cruisers on a cruise in the lower Adriatic was attacked by the U 3. The cruiser succeeded, with a suitable maneuver, in dodging the two torpedoes thrown at it by the submarine and investing it with the bow without determining its sinking. A squadron of our torpedo destroyers, of which the French destroyer Bisson was a part, was sent to hunt the submarine.
In the afternoon of the 13th the Bisson managed to track down the U 3 which was damaged and cannonade it, sinking it; he saved, by making them prisoners, the second in command and eleven crewmen ”.

“Recent Austrian press releases affirm that our navy has lost the submarine Nautilus, the Nereid and another one which is not named.
The Nautilus has never received any damage and is in service.
Pel Nereid does not seem that the sinking should be ascribed to the enemy offense, all appearances suggesting instead that it remained on the bottom due to a failure of some device. When the facts are established they will be officially communicated.
No other submarine was missing.
The destruction of our 3 PN torpedo boat is also claimed from Vienna This is also false: it has never been damaged and is normally in service.
The serious damage that would have been caused along our coast by the bombardment of two enemy destroyers and that would have been inflicted despite the opposition of medium-caliber land artillery in places where they never existed are then non-existent.
