11 April 1885: The Savoy cruiser enters service

to the service of the royal Savoy cruiser / ship in Naples under the command of the vessel captain Saverio Marra. Designed by the inspector of the Naval Genio Carlo Vigna, built in Castellammare di Stabia with the 4 July 1880 set up on the airport and launched the 25 June 1883, it had an 2853t displacement and was equipped with an 3340hp Ansaldo engine apparatus capable of impressing a speed of 14,5 nodes.

The armament, given the particular use of a real ship and a ship as a complex command post was reduced (two pieces of 75 mm and six of 57 mm).
