Sunday - After a cruise in Japanese waters, the cruiser Marco Polo returns to China to arrive in Ta-ku.

The resurgence of xenophobic sentiment, fomented by reactionary elements supported by the empress in power, creates disorder and violence especially in Beijing, so that the Italian unity, similar to what was done by the ships of other European nations, disembarks and sends a contingent of 32 men commanded by vessel lieutenant Luigi Terni de Gregori to protect the Legation.
