07 August 1912: Evidence from above of underwater visibility

Wednesday - High visibility tests are conducted with the use of the airship P.2 under the command of the lieutenant Giulio Valli. Three barrels, painted in white, red and light blue respectively, are prepared like blocking and sunken torpedoes.

These are identified by a share of 600 m: first the one painted in white, then the light blue and finally the red one.

Some bombs of the type used for terrestrial targets, which do not produce significant results, are launched against them because the bombs exploded on contact with the surface of the sea and far from the target, causing a strong wind that changed the fall trajectory.
