The operation Lafiya Dole, launched by the Nigerian army, he continues. The whole area of the north east of the country continues to be affected by clashes and above all by isolated attacks by the militia's Boko Haram, tailed by the regular forces of Abuja.

After the reclamation of the Sambisa Forest, located about 60 km from Maiduguri, the capital of the federal state of Borno, the logistic capacities of Boko Haram they are significantly reduced. However, the destruction of terrorist support bases would have resulted in the disorderly exodus of dozens of activists, intent on hitting civilian targets in the villages of the region.

In this regard, the Nigerian General Staff has issued an official warning, to warn the population against the penetration of provincial casual workers in the provincial centers. This would be the new strategy put in place by the terrorists: to be confused in a random order among the civilian population and to organize massacres in the most crowded places.

Despite the assurances of the central government, the situation continues to be out of control, especially in the State of Borno. The same capital Maiduguri, home of the "Wolves" of 7a Division of the Nigerian army, one of the great units engaged in the fight against terrorism, is not considered protected from the activities of onset of Boko Haram, as the recent attacks demonstrate.

On Monday 13 December, on the road between Maiduguri and Lake Chad, yet another IED was killed, General Umusu, commander of the 118 ° Battalion.

Maiduguri is 100 km from the border with Cameroon and less than 200 from the lake border with Chad. Both countries, affected by the penetration of Islamist armed gangs, are directly involved in the fight against terrorism.
