Libya: Patriotic "Cat" prepares the march on Tripoli

Patriot Abdelbasset Igtet (meaning "kitten" in Arabic) wants to march to the Martyrs Square (formerly Green Square) in Tripoli for his people. Animated by good intentions, the Libyan billionaire - who is resident in Switzerland - would be willing to make a breakthrough in the stagnant domestic policy of the country that currently has two superimposed and opposed governments. He would call tomorrow to gather the people for a great show. The program: important economic reforms to rebuild the economy and stop the interference of foreign countries in Libyan internal affairs.

The battlefield

It's all about decrying Libya. Tripoli has an internationally recognized but puppet government with no internal credibility. President Al-Sarraj stands alone when he is assassinated in the Navy's military barracks because he is usually subject to controversy and gunshots when he leaves. To be the head of the recognized government, it does not work hard to put order.

Tobruk has a government that is not recognized internationally, but enjoys the support of local public opinion. General Haftar, who fought like a lion, led him in spite of the international community's embargo on everything.

According to what he learned, Haithem Tajouri, commander of the Tripoli militia occupying the Martyrs' Square, will not give permission to manifest. The other leaders of the war, Ghernewa, Kara and Burki, who share the rest of the city will oppose the initiative. Al-Sarraj's chief of staff, Hashem Bashr, agrees to block the Libyan-Swiss billionaire.

Conversely, militias adversely affected the government of Al-Sarraj seem to have promised to "defend the protesters."

Various forces face both internally and in the race to find the alliance and support from the strongest nations in the world. In the midst of this scenario comes the Billionaire Abdelbasset Igtet, who is not new, since he had already spoken with the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC) during the Libyan crisis and in 2014 his name turned as a potential premier.

But who is the last person to go to Libya?

Abdelbasset Igtet was born in Benghazi on 24 September 1970. He comes from a family whose grandfather, Musa Igtet, in 1911 fought against the Italians. His father, Hassan Igtet, created the National Library at the University of Benghazi. Hassan, in contrast to Mu'ammar Gaddafi immediately after the coup, was jailed and died killing.

Abdelbasset felt in danger and fled to Switzerland where he entered the profession of entrepreneur with numerous projects throughout Europe and the Middle East. Today, its empire includes more than 40 businesses for hotel, commercial and residential development, business consolidation, finance, infrastructure planning and construction, as well as many regional initiatives in North Africa.

Worth the attention Swiss International Management which operates in the real estate, oil and gas exploration, infrastructure and healthcare. In 2005 12 funds German engineering studies into one large group, thus providing architectural and civil engineering structures to the state of Qatar. 2006 founded the Swiss group Mideast Finance and 2007 controls Metric - an interior, maritime, aeronautical and residential design company. Athal Energy, instead, deals with the exploration and development of existing oilfields.

The real problem is not so much in the fortunate business-social scale, but in Libyan internal credibility. Abdelbasset, a Muslim, is happily married to Sara Bronfman: Edgard's wealthy alcoholic merchant (his Seagram) and almost three decades president of the Jewish World Congress. According to the data provided by Forbes in 2011 the assets accumulated by the father amounted to 2.6 billion dollars. Furthermore Abdelbasset comes from eastern Libya, a region with many Libyans of Egyptian, Greek or Turkish origin. Many of them supported the foreign invasion and the war against Libya in 2011. The true "Libyan patriots" have not forgotten this aspect, therefore not used to receiving orders from "foreigners" who return home. Moreover, Igtet has had very close professional ties with Qatar - one of Libya's strongest enemies. And even that doesn't work in his favor ...

According to some journalistic sources collected on the web, the couple's daughter, who would marry 15 July 2012, would have four months in May 2013. If that were true, it would have been conceived before marriage, therefore in open contrast to the Islamic religion.

It is therefore evident that the Libyan-Swiss millionaire will not have an easy life because he is seen as too alien to the social context. It would also be questionable how many Libyans really know him. Gambling - if we are talking about gambling - is betting on one's personal history and credibility gained entirely abroad.

It remains to be seen how the strong powers will warm up his "descent into the field".
