The doubts of the "friends" of Russia: who recognized the republics of Donbass and who did not

Do I notice more if I come and stay on the sidelines or if I don't come at all? In light of the need for some countries to maintain good relations with Moscow but not to become an international pariah, let us try to understand how the main "partners" of the Kremlin among world governments are behaving. Let us therefore try to understand something more about the progress of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis starting from the question: who is officially with Putin and has made their decision to recognize the "rebel" governments of Donbass?

The answer is simple: only those who find themselves in the position of "passive customer" of Moscow, being able only to offer political "services" and little else in exchange for material, military, etc. aid. It is no coincidence that the Russian Federation has joined the Russian Federation, in alphabetical order: Cuba, Nicaragua, Syria and Venezuela, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the latter two entities being in turn recognized by the same states, with the addition of Nauru.

The company was joined by the Yemeni Houthis, recently protagonists of spectacular attacks in the Gulf area and evidently seeking sponsorship from Moscow.

For the rest, nothing. Some silences are deafening, starting with that of the Belarusian dictator Lukashenko, who last week assured that he would discuss "with Russian President Vladimir Putin on how to proceed so that both Russia and Belarus" benefit "from the recognition of pro-Russian rebels .

The supercazzola of Minsk

"We look at the decision with respect and understanding (Editor's note of Russia) to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Luhans'k People's Republics ... " however, Belarus intends "To proceed from the principles of a conscientious attitude of all parties to the fulfillment of international obligations, to the fraternal strategic alliance with Russia and also to take into account the further development of the situation".

Kazakhstan has decided that it will soon decide to decide on something else

"The official position of Kazakhstan is being elaborated, the Kazakh security council will be held in the next few hours, where we will finally adopt it", tuttavia "The question of Kazakhstan's recognition of the Donetsk and Luhans'k People's Republics is not on the agenda".

Serbia would like to wake up and find out it's just a bad nightmare

"Everything we knew yesterday no longer exists today ... This is probably the most difficult situation for all our peers, our parents, for us and for our children ... This in fact and substantially changes the world order ... This is the gravity of our position: Serbia is on the European path, Serbia has always supported the integrity of Ukraine and yet 85% of Serbian citizens, whatever happens, whatever happens, will be on the side of Russia ".

China stands by but has many interests at stake

China is asking Russia and Ukraine to “Avoid any action that could feed tensions. The current situation ... is the result of many complex factors ".

Iran proposes a moderation that is not at home in the Middle East

"The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on all parties to exercise restraint and to avoid any action that could increase tensions".
