Four ballistic missiles launched 'simultaneously' show that North Korea may have reached a new threat level.

At local 7.36 (shortly after midnight in Italy) four ballistic missiles were launched by the Dongchang-ri carrier, a long-range test site in North Korea, towards the Japanese exclusive economic zone (EEZ): covering a distance of approximately 1.000 km. Three of these fell into the sea at almost 200 nautical miles from the coast of Japan.

According to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the Pyongyang regime has shown that it has reached a new level of threat by developing its own technology, despite the resolutions of the UN Security Council 'explicitly' prohibiting North Korea from the use of missile technology ballistics.

The Japanese Air Force immediately sent an aircraft to search for debris sighted by several boats in the sea area where the missiles sank to obtain more information and ascertain the type of carrier tested.

The United States and the EU meanwhile strongly condemn the incident. Statements arrive from Washington saying: "we are ready to use the full range of capabilities at our disposal against this growing threat".
