Within the Operation "Sabina", started immediately after the earthquake that hit Central Italy and where more than 1.000 men and about 200 Armed Forces are used, the Army Logistics Command has also guaranteed the distribution of first 80 tons of hay to farmers living in municipalities hit by seismic shocks and heavy snowfalls in recent months.

In particular, the non-profit organization "Vola nel Cuore" of Ferrara, which promoted the collection of hay donations from breeders in Emilia Romagna and Veneto, asked the Army to load and move the forage from the collection areas, located in Stienta (RO) and San Vincenzo (BO), up to the donation locations of L'Aquila and San Ginesio (MC).

Specifically, the activity was conducted by the 8th "Casilina" Transport Regiment of Rome, at the request of the Command of the "Sisma" Group of Rieti, and saw the use of six Astra HD7 vehicles with attached curtainsider semi-trailers, particularly suitable for the transport of large volumes of huge bales of hay over a distance of over 500 km.

The aforementioned competition is added to that already carried out by the same Regiment in favor of Coldiretti Abruzzo at the beginning of last month, taking 130 round bales of hay with 4 Iveco Eurocargo from the Onna collection point (AQ) and distributing them in the Campotosto areas (AQ ) and Montereale (AQ).
