The ACSA will facilitate the mutual repayable supply between the United States and the EU during redeployments and military operations. The Military Logistics Assistance Agreement Military Logistical Assistance Agreement, will also help to strengthen the strategic partnership between NATO and the EU for defense and security in Europe and the stability of the project between neighbors and partners.

THEAcquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement it is negotiated on a bilateral basis with US allies or coalition partners. According to this agreement, the provision of support such as food, fuel, ammunition and the loan or lease of equipment is facilitated. Formerly known as NATO Mutual Support Act, the ACSA has been modified several times to also annex the non-members of NATO.

This mechanism reduces logistic burdens, providing the field commanders with greater interoperability, operational readiness and effective joint support. The goods obtained are then reimbursed to the foreign country that supplied them by cash, the equivalent or with an exchange of equal value.
