A Sukhoi Su-24 part of the contingent deployed by Moscow against the Islamic State, crashed into Syrian territory, presumably, following a ground attack. This is what the Russian Ministry of Defense communicates.

The Ministry of Defense reports that the plane was at an altitude of 6000 meters. The fate of the pilots is not clear at this time. According to early reports, they may have been able to be expelled.

"One of our departments is in the area, our fighter has never abandoned Syrian airspace".

Previously, some media claimed that the plane was shot down by an F-16, after violating Turkish airspace.
