Russian Helicopters completed the first sea trials of the Ka-52K Katran.

The Ka-52K differs from the Ka-52 Alligator for folding blades and wings, increased corrosion protection, different air conditioning, navigation systems and finally life support systems compatible with diving suits. The war equipment would be the same for both variants.

The Katran can be equipped with a dual-band radar that would allow the launch of Kh-35 and Kh-38 missile missiles.

The first model flew on 7 March 2015 and made its public debut at the 'Armija-2015' international fair in Kubinka, near Moscow.

Although sea trials are still ongoing, the Russian Navy deployed the Ka-52K in combat operations in Syria between November 2016 and January 2017 on board the aircraft carrier. Admiral Kuznetsov.

The Russian Navy has ordered overall 32 Ka-52K helicopters, about 20 should be already in service

Full-scale production of the aircraft is scheduled for the 2020 ..
