Exclusive Online Defense: last interview with the Chief of Staff of the Navy, adm. Giuseppe De Giorgi

(To Andrea Cucco)
22/06/16

We have followed him for years, from the efforts to make the country understand that the Navy would vanish as a credible military force within a few decades (they led to the Naval Law of 2014 and about half of what was required ...) to the misadventures. with Reservoir Dogs, basically defused after the admiral confronted them vis à vis (but this episode did not have too many replies ...).

In recent months, accusations raised by anonymous people have punctually "ballistics" compromised successive tasks that almost certainly deserved a fellow citizen who - in substance, not in media appearance - has done so much for a country and its armed force.

Of course, ending a 45-year career with a public image that doesn't do justice to one's work is sad. The consolation is that the merits of the soldier who left the top position in the Navy will undoubtedly be recognized for many years to come.

The readers of Difesa Online never stop at the "final and final judgments" issued by headlines with no content or photos "slammed on the front page". Who reads this newspaper gets an idea in an autonomous and transversal way. The last interview granted by the admiral provides a picture that is not resolved in the few seconds of a television report. Sometimes it takes time to make a judgment, if not "correct" at least "correct".

Good vision!
