The "Granatieri" returns from Lebanon

The ceremony for the return of the Italian contingent from operation "Leonte XXII" to Lebanon was held in recent days at the Tor di Quinto military hippodrome, in the presence of the COMFOPSUD commander, general of the army corps Luigi Francesco De Leverano, of civil and military authorities as well as family and friends of the soldiers who have returned from the mission.

The men and women belonging to the "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade returned from Lebanon a few days ago where they had the leadership of the Joint Task Force Lebanon, the Italian-led multinational command operating in the southern region of the country, for about 6 months. the Army and the other Italian armed forces are receiving ever greater and unanimous consent.

General Luigi Francesco De Leverano, commander of the Southern Operative Forces, during his speech thanked Brigadier General Francesco Olla and all the military deployed for the excellent results achieved and for the high professionalism demonstrated in a multinational context and in a a demanding and delicate theater like the Lebanese one.

In about six months the Italian soldiers have carried out uninterrupted support activities to the local population, through initiatives in their favor, in addition to the operational activities of control of the border areas and the demarcation line, better known as Blue Line.

The ceremony took place at the Military Hippodrome of Tor di Quinto, one of the headquarters of the Lancers regiment of Montebello (8th), which during the operation was in command of the maneuvering unit of the Italian contingent (ITALBATT).
