On 29 October 2018 col. Maurizio D'Andrea, awarded to the CSPG (Coalition Strategy and Plans Group) in the J5 Division of USCENTCOM (Tampa, FL), received the prestigious US honor Joint Service Commendation Medal.
The col. D'Andrea, within the CSPG, played the role of responsible for the part Assessment need Chief of Staff for the Planning of Operation Inherent Resolve in the fight against Daesh.
In this context, the officer was particularly distinguished for his excellent work in a very complex international context, where he effectively coordinated all the activities of the CSPG with the various divisions of USCENTCOM and promoted significant changes in the dynamics related to processes of Assessment and Planning.
In recognition of the exceptional expertise and excellent skills demonstrated, Colonel D'Andrea has been attributed by the Secretary of Defense of the United States Joint Service Commendation Medal. This is the first time that this recognition has been given to a USCENTCOM CSPG officer.
