Iraq-Iran earthquake: UN aid starts from Brindisi

A KC-767 aircraft of the 14th Wing of the Italian Air Force, carrying on board the humanitarian aid provided by the Department of Civil Protection and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with the IOC, took off yesterday from the Emergency Response Base United Nations Humanitarian (UNHRD) of Brindisi, managed by the World Food Program (WFP) - UN agency for food assistance.

The military aircraft transported blankets and basic necessities such as hygiene kits, sent to the Italian Development Cooperation, intended for the populations affected by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck between the border between Iraq and Iran.
The palletising and loading operations of the aids were carried out by the "Movement & Transportation" (M&T) staff of the Brindisi Detachment with the logistical support of the UNHRD base.
