Yesterday, Monday 1 October, the Specialist School of the Air Force and the city of Caserta celebrated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Specialist School, which took place on 1 October 1948 to train specialists in the aircraft.

The celebration began at 9: 30, in an ideal embrace with the city, with the "step by step" parade of Fanfara with the Labari of the Sections of the Associations Arma Aeronautica, the Radunists and the Company of frequenters of the Specialist School along Via Mazzini, Piazza Margherita, Viale Douhet, until you reach the Piazzale delle Bandiere of the Specialist School where the military ceremony of the solemn flag-raising ceremony took place with the deposition of the crown at the Monument of the Fallen, as a symbol of the continuity of the values of yesterday's specialists and those of today.

The military ceremony took place in the presence of the highest civil and military authorities of Caserta and its province, of the Banners of the Province and of the Municipality of Caserta and of the Labari of the Combatant and Weapon Associations. To mark the salient phases of the ceremony was the Fanfare of the School Command AM / 3rd Air Region of Bari.

In addressing his first thought to the fallen soldiers in the fulfillment of his duty, Colonel Nicola Gigante, commander of the Specialist School of the Air Force, after thanking all those present, emphasized: "this ceremony is for us the umpteenth opportunity to reaffirm our identity to the territory that has hosted us since the first years of the Air Force's life when in 1926 the Royal Academy moved from Livorno to Palazzo Vanvitelliano. But it is also a very precious opportunity to remind us and everyone of the strategic value of Our Mission since, through the daily commitment to train the specialists who will form the backbone of the Air Force, we at the Caserta School are really dedicated to creating a Force Armed and a better company and with the intention of being more and more useful to the country". He then continued with a look at the future of the School, saying: "the age of 70 is a starting point, not a destination. The School of Specialists faces great challenges that we will face together for a further leap in quality, through the construction of further training skills and the refinement of existing ones and with great attention to personnel and the territory [...]. Resilience is for us the ability to persist, to make motivation last despite the obstacles and difficulties, which necessarily will exist but which we will consider as opportunities to grow with the courage and tenacity of those who are aware that the best of each of us, as the history of this school and of the gatherers teaches us".
