Newborn baby in danger of life transported with an emergency flight from Cagliari to Rome

A medical transport has been recently concluded with a Falcon 50 aircraft of Ciampino's 31 ° Stormo of the Italian Air Force in favor of a newborn in Impending Life Danger (IPV).

The small patient was transported on the Cagliari - Rome route inside a special thermal cradle and looked after by a medical team. Once landed at Ciampino (RM), after about an hour of flight, he was then transferred by ambulance to the “Bambino Gesù” children's hospital in Rome.

The request for support was received from the prefecture of Cagliari to the Top Situation Room of Air Force Command, the operational room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also to organize and manage - in coordination with prefectures, hospitals and presidency of the Council of Ministers - this kind of transport throughout the national territory.
