- A delegation from the Air Task Force (TFA) visited the Šiauliai City Orphanage this morning offering health and psychological care to more than 60 children from 0 to 6 years. The event included various moments dedicated to children: from musical entertainment to pasta preparation.

The most important moment was the donation of special equipment for one of the most needy children in the orphanage, a child of a few years suffering from cerebral palsy and congenital dysplasia of the hip.

Thanks to the voluntary contribution of all Italian personnel, in fact, a sufficient sum was collected to purchase a 'verticalizer', a special device to allow the child to walk properly.

The col. Marco Bertoli, head of the Italian TFA, in his speech highlighted the importance of these activities in favor of the local community. "For us it was important not only to give a tangible sign of our presence in Lithuania, thanks to the purchase of an important medical equipment that could make life a little easier for a child in difficulty, but also to offer all children a window on the culture and traditions of our country. This is why we organized a small concert and prepared one of our best and most well-known foods ”.

The director of the Orphanage, Dr. Audronè Kardašienè thanked the staff of the TFA because "you Italians take care of us keeping our skies safe and safe from our children. Thanks also to all the Italians who wanted, in their free time, to give the most precious asset to a child, attention and serenity. All this has certainly strengthened that feeling of mutual esteem and appreciation ".

During the visit, clothes, shoes and toys were delivered. All the material was donated by the following associations / companies: Metropolis social cooperative consortium of Molfetta (BA), Association of the military of Palo del Colle (BA), AICCOS of Molfetta (BA) and Italeri spa of Calderara di Reno (BO).
